Night Angel Trilogy review
The Night Angel Trilogy.
So this is what these books have.
-Bad ass main characters.
-Bad ass supporting characters.
-Bad ass female characters.
-Bad ass weapons.
-Bad ass legends.
-Even a bad ass romance (DurzoxGwen and KylerxElene)
-Basically there’s a lot of bad assery going on here.
Now the thing about this series is that it’s a certain kind of perfect in that it’s total fantasy but holds a lot of aspects of real life in it.
It’s ruthless in it’s honesty towards human nature and demonstrates how objectivity can be brutal. You read this trilogy and it opens up your mind and you get depressed for a little bit because you suddenly realize what the world is like so you don’t touch the books for a little while. (In my case, a couple hours.)
But then you think about it again and it draws you in like a beautiful sin (i swear, i didn’t intend to make this rhyme.) and soon you’re pretty much obsessed with it. Again. Like an addict having a relapse.
But seriously, it’s unusually captivating and it has a little something for every one based on what they like.
If you like romance, it’s there.
Mystery (or just a plot with a challenge). Totally. You’ll probably have a bit of a mental break down trying to figure it out. Sometimes you’ll get one theory and have it proven wrong only for you to be proven right in the end.
Action. Yeah. It’s actually kind of heart wrenching at some parts. (No spoilers. If you haven’t read all of the books, you’re getting NOTHING from me. I’m pretty sure, anyway.)
And then there’s also a bit of dry and morbid humour for those that enjoy comedy.
All in all, the Night Angel Trilogy definitely going on many top ten lists.
